Born in 1950, the violist HARIOLF SCHLICHTIG has made a name for himself in the music world as a chamber musician, soloist and teacher. After studying with Max Rostal and Sandor Vegh, he was a member of the Cherubini Quartet for 19 years, with which he won several international competitions, traveled almost all over the world, made highly acclaimed CD recordings and performed at internationally renowned festivals. Hariolf Schlichtig has been a professor for viola and chamber music at the University of Music and Theater in Munich since 1987 and gives numerous international master classes. His class has repeatedly won prizes at major competitions, and many of his former students have prominent positions in international music life
